Why a Logo?
A logo is an indispensible marketing tool, it takes the place of  long, hard to remember company names. A well designed logo achieves wide symbolic recognition for a company. 
International Business Machines, IBM is immediately recognized by its blue logo, so too are the logos of Apple, Windows and  Shell Oil. Global recognition of a corporate logo can also carry a perceived indication of quality.
Get it right the first time
Many designs though conceptually brilliant can fall short of full effectiveness mainly because all of the possible variations of the concept were not examined. Most experienced designers will go through all the design variations to conclusion before presenting a final proposal.
